We Have Winners!

I got so many suggestions for children's books in the comments and I appreciate all of them. There were very popular favorites that I am familiar with but haven't read yet, there were some that I've never heard of, and then there were some that brought back childhood memories, books that I loved as a child but haven't thought of in years.
One of the books that I used to love was The Story of Ferdinand. I've got to get that for my kids. Another suggestion was the Black Stallion series. I loved those. I had horses growing up and I even had a black horse that I would pretend was the Black Stallion. His name was Killer, seriously, but he was the most gentle horse ever. That reminds me of another one that wasn't suggested. Black Beauty. I loved that book. Another of my favorites was Where the Red Fern Grows. I even have an autographed copy of the book. When I was in 5th grade Wilson Rawls came to my school and signed copies of his book. The date he signed it was April 4, 1977. How cool is that?
Anyway, I just want to thank everyone for their great suggestions. We will definitely be checking them out from the library. And I want to congratulate the winners. I hope you like the books and cd's you are going to get.
